1.I'd use it if alerts are instant- the edge is catching a whale the moment he sits;
2.i sort by avg pot+ players'flop, then watch one orbit'
3.aler me on: 100bb+stack at a high avg-pot table, or my waitlist oppening.
I’d prefer a quiet desktop notification showing whether a seat is actually open, plus a minimum player count. A high average pot alone could just be one huge hand skewing the numbers. alerts for conditions that last a few minutes would interest me more than constant pings.
Not really my format, I play MTTs, so take this with a grain of salt.
For me a phone ping would be useless for the exact reason you wrote: if I'm not already at the computer, I'm not sitting down. A quiet window on the desktop sounds much more honest. I'd also only want it to fire when a seat is actually open, like Manuel54 said. A soft table I can't sit at is just a tease.
One question: are you thinking about an MTT version at all? Something like "this tournament is in late reg and the field is unusually small for this time of day" is the kind of thing I'd actually check.
I have been logging the cash lobbies of five rooms every 30 minutes (GG, PokerKing, Red Star, CoinPoker, Stars) and want to know whether the obvious next step is worth building.
The idea: a scanner that watches for games that look softer than usual and messages you on Telegram, Discord or text when one shows up. You set the game, the stake and a trigger (players-to-flop above X, average pot above Y bb, certain player). The message tells you where it fired and whether that is unusual for that game at that hour or just its normal.
Where I am stuck:
- Most regs have the lobby open already and may not need telling.
- By the time you read a ping and sit down the seat may be gone.
- A message on your phone is only worth anything if you are somewhere you can actually sit down and play.
1. Would you use this, or does it only sound useful?
2. How do you pick a table now? Sorted lobby, gut, or just sit at whatever is running at your stake?
3. What would you want it to fire on?
4. Telegram, Discord, text, or would you rather it just sat quietly in a window on your desktop?
Looking for feedback and "Nobody wants this" is a useful answer.
